Want to run a course?

What are hubs?

Courses are run out of 'hubs', and these could be as simple as a group in one church, or a local group of churches partnering together. We've tried to ensure that the resources are simple enough to make it possible to run even a small hub with a handful of students, and anything from a single module to a long-running course.

The main thing is that hubs provide their own tutors to run the course. We look to provide all the tutors need, and we don't insist on any training, but we'll look to provide some guidance to tutors.

Hubs can then:

  • Select what level of course they want to run (Foundation or Advanced)

  • Select which modules they want to run, and in which order (we can provide some guidance)

  • Decide the timeline and speed of learning

  • Decide how they would like to tutor - anything from basic supervision through to additional teaching sessions.

Typical Course Structure

Below we've outlined typical course structures, one Foundations level and one Advanced Level, both running for 2 years. Your hub could, however, choose different modules, or add module options, run at a faster or slower pace, and have more or less mixing of modules during each term. The advanced course modules are designed to be shorter in order to allow more mixing of modules in a term.

There is no problem, however, if you prefer to do something much simpler, perhaps just running occasional modules. The choice is yours.

The modules on "Teaching and Preaching the Bible" are intended to be suitable for both men and women, with options in some units to reflect our complementarian position. This is to equip mature Christian women to teach other women. You may opt to have some tutorials to address men and women separately.
