Why are we charging
The main reason we need to charge is where we are making use of external, paid courses as part of our overall course. We collect charges centrally, then pass through the majority of the cost to the course provider. The cost to the student is the same or lower than you would get directly, but we make use of any volume discount to cover some of our internal costs.
Currently we use 2 external course providers:
Where we use internally curated courses, we suggest a contribution per student (and tutor) to cover some of our internal costs. But because much of the content we are building on is external, and often freely available, we don't feel we should charge a fee.

For the Advanced Course, most of the modules are internal and you can see the breakdown on the Course Modules page. We realise this makes it a bit complicated to calculate. But typically:

For Foundations - each student or tutor would be expected to pay £25 per term (1 module per term)

For Advanced - most of the courses are internal and there would be at most one external course per term, so each student or tutor would be expected to pay £25 plus a suggested contribution of £16 (3 modules per term, one external)
